Do Nostradamus prophecies represent true predictions of future events?  Here are a few more quatrains containing specific references to real documented occurrences.  A new quatrain will be added to this highly accurate list at the rate of approximately one prophecy per month, until all the quatrains have been completely revealed.  These Nostradamus prophecies from Chapter 2 of the Centuries do seem to fly in the face of those who insist that Nostradamus prophecies have no basis in historical fact:

Apres des portes, & dedans deux cites,

Faim dedans peste, de fer hors gens boutes,

Cries for help from the great God immortal.

Crier secours au grand Dieu immortel.

In 1945, two nuclear catastrophes took place at the twin Japanese port cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  Nostradamus describes the incredible horror and loss of life that accompanied these twin bombings that marked the end of the military exploits of the Empire of Japan.

As Allied forces entered Europe during World War II, troops in the south recaptured Naples, Palermo and Syracuse in Italy, while the British army in the north liberated Ghent, Brussels, and Switzerland. As allied troops entered each European population center, they were greeted by festive celebrations on the part of the citizenry in every town, who were overjoyed to finally be freed from Nazi domination.

Wildmen ferocious with anger, crossover rivers.

Bestes farouches de faim fleuves tranner.

This prophecy contains Nostradamus' famous wordplay on the name of Adolph Hitler.  Nostradamus cleverly combines "Hitler" with "Ister" (Ister is the Latin name for the Danube region of Germany) thus giving us both Hitler's name and place of origin.  This quatrain describes the World War II armored allied invasion of Germany, and the resulting actions of a madman who like an angry child, refused to heed the advice of his generals to surrender.  Hitler ultimately shot himself.

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #2-51

The blood of the just in London will be demanded,

Le sang de juste a Londres fera faulte,

   Burned by flames in '66:

Brusles par fouldres de vint trois les six:

The ancient city will seek to be a safer place,

La dame antique cherra de place haute,

Many of the same (suspected) sect will be killed.

Des mesme secte plusiers seront occis.

This quatrain describes the great Fire of London that occurred in 1666, destroying nearly 80 percent of the old walled city, and the fate of the many Dutchmen who were blamed for setting the fire, and murdered in the streets in retaliation.

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #2-62

Mabus then quickly at this time will commit (mass) murder, there will come

Mabus puis tost alors meurra, viendra

Upon men and beasts, one horrible fate:

Des gens bestes une horrible defaits:

Then will all see the coup of vengeance.

Puis tout a coup la vengence on verra.

There is great taking (of lives), thirst, anger, when the comet will pass.

Nostradamus employs another of his famous wordgames to describe a minor antichrist named "mabus," which, when held up to a mirror, produces the name "sudam".  And indeed it is the evil Suddam Hussein who will bring a horrible fate upon both men and beasts in the mid 1980's (at the passing of Halley's Comet) when he will employ the use of chemical weapons in horrible acts of vengeance upon his many enemies.  Suddam's evil acts will ultimately bring America into a war in the Middle East from which it will not be able to extricate itself.

Ton sang viendra aupres de la cracher,

In 1796 Napoleon invaded Italy, travelling through the city of Turin that two rivers flow through.  By 1798 it became apparent to the Pope of Rome that Napoleon's invasion was unstoppable.  The Pope then decided not to resist Napoleon's army in order to prevent any physical destruction in the city of Rome.  If you would like to learn more about how prophecy may someday affect your future too, click on the link below and order your copy of Edward Oliver's new 350-page book, "Prophets and Frauds."
