   NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #2-3

   Because of the (effects of) hot sun on the water,

   Pour la chaleur solaire sus la mer,

   At Negroponte the fish are half-baked;

   The inhabitants will start to slice them up,

   When those of Rhodes and Genoa shall need food.

   Quatrain #2-3: Nostradamus actually names Negroponte Evia, Greece, the exact area where forest fires burned out of control because of a drought produced by record high temperatures in the northern hemisphere. Dead fish lie on the banks of most bodies of water, as the heated water cannot support sufficient oxygen levels. In Greece and Italy, the effects of Global Warming are taking a terrible toll. Water for the irrigation of crops is becoming more scarce and threatening future food supplies. The dead fish may be needed to feed the hungry in the Mediterranean region.

   Near the harbors & within two cities,

   Aupres des portes & dedans deux cites,

   There will be two catastrophes & the like of which never seen;

   Seront deux fleaux & oncques n'apperceu un tel;

   Intense in torment, by a bomb (incalculable) human lives are ended,

   Faim dedans peste, de fer hors gens boutes,

   Crying for help from the great God immortal.

   Quatrain #2-6: In August of 1945, two atomic bombs were dropped on the twin Japanese port cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  In this quatrain Nostradamus describes the incredible horror and massive loss of life caused by the first two nuclear bombings in history.  A few days later, the empire of Japan surrendered, marking the end of WWII.

   Before long, all things will be controlled,

   Avant longtemps le tout sera range,

   We shall endure a time very sinister;

   The status of artists & their independence greatly changes,

   Quatrain #2-10: During the NAZI occupation of France in WWII, the formerly independent expression of French artists and entertainers was controlled by the NAZI (National Socialist) propaganda machine. If artists, performers, or members of the media refused to cooperate, they were immediately arrested by NAZI troops and sent off to the concentration camps.

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #2-13

   The body without a soul can no longer be sacrificed,

   Le corps sans ame n'estre en sacrifice,

   The day of death is a day of rebirth;

   Jour de la mort mis en nativite;

   The divine spirit will make the soul joyful,

   L'esprit divin fera l'ame felice,

   Witnessing the Holy Word in its eternity.

   Quatrain #2-13: This is one of the most fascinating of all the Nostradamus quatrains.  It is Nostradamus' statement on death.  The great prophet believed that man is born once of water (from the womb) and then once again of the spirit (at the moment of death) (JOHN 3:5).

   In Naples, Palermo, Sicily, and Syracuse,

   Naples, Palerme, Sicille, Syracuses,

   New violence, and fiery explosions in the skies;

   Quatrain #2-16: Nostradamus sees flak exploding in the sky as allied forces finally enter Europe during WWII.  Troops in southern Europe retake Naples, Palermo, Sicily and Syracuse in Italy, while allied troops entering from England in the north will liberate Ghent, Brussels, and Switzerland.   As each town and city is liberated, allied soldiers are greeted by festive celebrations as townfolk celebrate their freedom from NAZI domination.

   The UNDERSEA army of Europe will depart,

   Le camp ASOP d'Europe partira,

   They will join up near the isles submerged;

   S'adjoignant proche de l'isle submerge;

   The assembled fleet will form a phalange,

   D'arton classe phalange pliera,

   The navies of the world now viewed as more vulnerable.

   Quatrain #2-22: At the beginning of WWII, the world's navies had no effective defenses against the fleets of German submarines that were able to attack allied shipping with complete impunity.  When a convoy was spotted, its location was immediately radioed to German fleet headquarters.  The submarines then gathered at that location to attack the convoy en mass.  The only defense the allies had was to form their ships into phalanges, with the less valuable ships placed on the outside rows, thus serving as sacrificial vessels.

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #2-24

   Wildmen, ferocious with anger, crossover rivers.

   Bestes farouches de faim fleuves tranner.

   The greater part of the battlefield will be against Hitler;

   Plus part du champ encontre Hister sera;

   In armor of steel the great (army) will make the assault,

   When the child of Germany shall heed no one.

   Quatrain #2-24: This prophecy contains Nostradamus' famous wordplay on the name of Adolf Hitler. Nostradamus combines "Hitler" with "Ister" thus giving Hitler's name, and place of origin (Ister was the Latin name for the Danube). When Allied soldiers thoroughly fed up with the war, finally cross the rivers Oder and Elbe and invade Berlin, Hitler, like an angry child, refuses to heed the advice of his generals to surrender.

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #2-28

   The next to the last of the surname of prophet,

   Le penultiesme du surnom de prophete,

   Will take Friday for his day of rest;

   Prendra Diane pour son jour & repos;

   He will wander far because of his frenetic thoughts,

   Loing vaguera par frenetique teste,

   And shall deliver to a great people, the impossible.

   Quatrain #2-28: Nostradamus, like most Jews, began his Sabbath "day of rest" on Friday at dusk.  In this quatrain Nostradamus refers to himself as "the next to the last of the surname of prophet", thereby informing us that we may expect one more prophet to arrive on Earth in the future.  It appears his unique ability caused him a great amount of anxiety as he viewed the fate of those suffering the vengeance of a God they continually refused to obey.

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #2-51

   The blood of the just in London will be (shed) in error.

   Le sang de juste a Londres fera faulte,

   Burned by flames in '66,

   Brusles par fouldres de vint trois les six;

   The ancient city will seek to be a safer place;

   Many of the same (suspected) sect will be killed.

   Quatrain #2-51: This quatrain describes the "Great Fire of London" in 1666, that destroyed nearly 80 percent of the old walled city. Dutch Jews, brought in by Cromwell in 1656, are blamed for setting the blaze, and murdered in the streets in retaliation.

   Mabus then quickly at this time will commit (mass) murder, there will come

   Mabus puis tost alors mourra, viendra

   Upon men & beasts, one horrible slaughter;

   Des gens & bestes, une horrible defaite;

   Then one shall see a coup of vengeance upon all,

   Puis tout a coup la vengeance on verra,

   There is a great taking (of lives), thirst, anger, when the comet shall pass.

   Quatrain #2-62: Nostradamus employs a wordgame to describe the third antichrist "mabus." Mabus will appear when a comet passes by in the night sky. Mabus is the hidden culprit behind the initial attack that will ignite the flames of war between the sons of Isaac (Christians) and the sons of Ishmael (Islamics). After mabus fulfills his destiny of starting WWIII, his life will be quickly brought to an end.

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #2-64

   Suffering from hunger, from thirst, the men of Geneva,

   Seicher de faim, de soif, gent Genevoise,

   Hope held close, will turn to despair

   Espoir prochain viendra au defaillir

   On the thought that they will be under the rule of Holland (by Spain);

   Sur point tremblant sera loi Gebenoise;

   The fleet not welcomed in the great harbor.

   Quatrain #2-64: The Catholic king Philip II of Spain, refuses to give up his low countries (Holland) to the Protestants.  The Calvinist Protestants in Geneva are in a panic when the Spanish Armada unexpectedly shows up in the harbor in Holland in 1664.  This naval blockade effectively shuts off food supplies and many other vital supplies for most of northeastern Europe.  The Protestant officials in Geneva now fear they will fall under the jurisdiction of a Spanish-ruled Holland.

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #2 - 65

   Quatrain #2-65: Nostradamus tells us that Americans (NY) and those of Lombardy (Andora), Italy will suffer pain and confinement when Mercury and Saturn move into conjunction in the night sky. This conjunction occurred on January 11, 2020, the exact date when the first Covid-19 victim in Wuhan, China died and started a panic in the world medical community. It is a fact that Nostradamus provided the exact date when the event occurred, and also named the two Christian societies that first suffered attacks from this deadly virus.

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #2-72

   The French army in Italy halted,

   Armee Celtique en Italie vexee,

   In all places conflict & great losses;

   De toutes pars conflict & grand perte;

   The Italians retreating, repulsed by the French,

   Romans fuir, o Gaule repoulse,

   Near the banks of the Rubicon, an uncertain battle.

   Quatrain #2-72: In one of the most important events in all of history, Julius Caesar crossed over the Rubicon River which was against Roman law at the time.  Ever since, every emperor in history has attempted to duplicate that feat.  Napoleon's army achieved their symbolic crossing of the Rubicon River on their march from Bologna to Ancona during Napoleon's Fourth Italian Campaign.

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #2-75

   The call is heard of a loud bird (a vulture),

   La voix ouye l'insulit oiseau,

   Over the roar of the cannon placements,

   Sur le canon du respiral estage;

   So high (in price) will rise a bushel of wheat,

   Si haut viendra de froment le bousseau,

   That man by man shall be cannibalized.

   Quatrain #2-75: In 1815 the world experiences a "Year Without a Summer" as a large volcano in the Dutch East Indies explodes sending a giant cloud of volcanic ash high up into Earth's atmosphere.  This volcanic cloud envelopes the northern hemisphere, producing crop killing winter-like conditions in Europe and America as Napoleon is attempting to regain his throne.  This "Act of God" will result in food riots and human cannibalism in France and cause Napoleon and his army to run out of food and supplies.  With a severe shortage of necessary supplies, Napoleon's weakened army suffers a defeat at the Battle of Waterloo.

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #2-87

   Later, shall come from distant lands,

   Apres, viendra des extremes contrees,

   A German prince upon a guilded throne,

   Prince Germain dessus le throsne dore,

   Whose servitude & sustinence falls in with others;

   La servitude & eaux rencontrees;

   The lady's service, her times, no longer adored.

   La dame servue, son temps plus n'adore.

   Quatrain #2-75: Britain's Protestant Queen Anne, last of the Stuarts, is succeeded by the German Protestant king, George I, of the Hanover line.   George I falls in with others who seek to limit the power of the king.  George will institute a cabinet form of government in England.

   The Roman Pontiff guards against their approach
