Many of Nostradamus' prophecies refer to the coming of a shadowy figure known as "Hister". A great portion of Nostradamus' writings are devoted to this mysterious person. Nostradamus was known to play word games with the names of famous persons in order to confuse those attempting to interpret his prophecies before their time. The word "Hister" is thought to be a combination of the two words "Hitler" and "Ister," thus providing both the name and place of origin of the infamous Nazi leader. The word "Ister" was the Latin name for the Danube River in Germany, upon whose banks Adolf Hitler was born.
It is thought that Adolf Hitler is the second of two antichrists coming to bring much death and destruction to the world. Napoleon is thought to be the FIRST ANTICHRIST, and Adolf Hitler, the SECOND ANTICHRIST. These Last Days antichrists were described in the book of Revelation Chapter 13, where the first beast has seven "heads" (leads a seven-nation empire), and the second beast has two "horns" (leads an empire led by two military leaders - Hitler and Mussolini). There are many specific references to Adolf Hitler in the Centuries that do seem to represent actual historical events surrounding his infamous life and career. The following quatrains represent some typical examples of Nostradamus' specific references to the life and career of the infamous Nazi leader:

Wildmen ferocious with anger, crosssover rivers,

In this quatrain Nostradamus tells us about the final days of the Nazi empire, as Allied troops finally invade German soil. The Nazi leader Adolf Hitler would not admit defeat, and refused to heed the advise of his generals to surrender. Hitler, behaving like an angry child, sat in his bunker in Berlin and refused to take note of events going on around him. He ultimately committed suicide by shooting himself in the head, and ordered his body burned so it would not fall into enemy hands. The body of Hitler's double was left for the Allies to discover.

This quatrain tells us about a secret meeting that took place between Adolf Hitler and Italy's dictator Benito Mussolini on June 2nd, 1940 at the Brenner Pass near Venice, to discuss Italy's formal entry into WWII. It was agreed at this meeting that Mussolini would declare war on Britain and France, and that Italy would initiate an African campaign. Adolf Hitler would then complete the Tripartite Treaty with the Japanese, extending the war into Asia. Just over a week later, on June 10th, 1940, Italian forces began their attacks on the island of Malta and the Ligurian coast of France.

The German leader Adolf Hitler and Italian leader Benito Mussolini acted together to remove the influence of the Catholic Church from all sectors of the nation of Italy. Mussolini was then established as the military dictator of the new Fascist republic. The freedom of the people of Italy was ended, and a state of martial law was instituted in all parts of the new Socialist state.
