Nostradamus seemed captivated by the coming of a mysterious person he referred to as "Pax Ney Loron". This mysterious figure was responsible for many Nostradamus prophecies. This famous figure was also the subject of a Nostradamus word game. Nostradamus was known to play word games with the names of famous people in order to confuse those attempting to interpret his prophecies before their time. The name "Pax Ney Loron" (Peace Not Bound) is thought by many Nostradamus followers to be an anagram of the name "Napolyon Rex" (Napoleon the Emperor). This Greek spelling (Apollyon) of Napoleon's name alludes to his birthplace on the former Greek island of Corsica in the Meditterranean Sea. Most Nostradamus fans are convinced that Napoleon was the first of three antichrists scheduled to appear on Earth prior to the time of the end.
There are innumerable references to Napoleon throughout Nostradamus' works, describing specific events in Napoleon's long military career that greatly influenced the future of France in very significant ways. There are some who also feel that certain Bible references point to Napoleon (Bible - Apollyon) as the messianic antichrist who attempts to seat himself as both military and religious head of the western world. It was in fact Napoleon who placed the Pope's crown on his own head and held the Pope prisoner for a period of 42 months from July 1809 to January 1813, thus fulfilling a famous Bible prophecy. The following quatrains (4-line poems) represent typical examples of Nostradamus' many references to the life and military exploits of the famous French general, Napoleon Buonaparte:
NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #8 - 1
Pax Ney Loron will create more fire and blood.
Pax Ney Loron plus feu qu'an sang sera.
Bathed in praise, a great escape is assured.
Laude nager, fuir grand au surrez.
Those worried will refuse him entry,
Les agassas entree refusera,
But doubtful that for long they can hold him confined.
Pampon durance les tiendra enferrez.

The above quatrain contains Nostradamus' famous anagram "Pax Ney Loron" (Peace Not Bound), which produces "Napolyon Rex" (Napoleon the Emperor) when unscrambled. And it was Napoleon (GREEK: Napollyon - the Destroyer) who finally ended the peace in Europe. This particular quatrain describes a famous incident that occurred in August of 1794, when Napoleon was arrested and imprisoned at Ft. Carres in Antibes as he was returning to France from a military campaign in Genoa, Italy. In Paris, the famous Robespierre had just been overthrown and executed, and the revolutionaries in Paris were worried that Napoleon, originally appointed by Robespierre, was still a Robespierre supporter. Napoleon's fame however, had spread all over France, and it was impossible for the revolutionaries to hold him for very long. Ten days later, Napoleon was released from prison.
NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #1-60
An Emperor will be born near Italy,
Un Empereur naistra pres d'Italie,
Who shall cost the Empire very dearly;
Qui a l'Empire sera vendu bien cher;
It will be said by those who rally about him,
Diront avec quelz gens il se ralie,
That he will prove less prince than butcher.
Qu'on trouvera moins prince que boucher.

In this quatrain describes the birth of the emperor Napoleon Buonaparte, born August 15, 1769 on the island of Corsica near Italy.  Napoleon's bold style and military genius would soon rocket him to the top of the military ranks of the French army. His legendary battle strategies are still studied today in military academies all over the world. Napoleon was destined to ultimately accede to the throne of France, where would conquer more land, create more destruction, and kill more people than any previous world conqueror.
NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #1-32
The grand empire will be quickly reduced
Le grand empire sera tost translate
To a tiny area, which shall very soon expand;
En lieu petit, que bien tost croistre;
An extremely low place of meager account,
Lieux bien infame, d'exigue comte,
In the middle of which he will come to lay down his sceptre.
Ou au milieu viendra poser son sceptre.

This quatrain describes the first exile of Napoleon on the tiny island of Elba. He arrived on Elba on May 4, 1814, and was allowed to hold full legal (sceptre) authority on the island. The emperor soon grew tired of the restrictions of the tiny island, and decided to expand his empire once again by escaping and returning to France to regain control of the French army. Napoleon's return to France however, would be of very short duration, lasting only about 100 days. The emperor was stopped by the English general Wellington at the infamous battle of Waterloo, and he was exiled for a second time on the much more remote island of Saint Helena. Napoleon would be unable to escape his captivity on Saint Helena and was destined to suffer a slow and painful death from stomach cancer on the small island.
Napoleon's prophetic identity has always been a subject of great speculation in the religious world. Napoleon is thought by many to be the First Antichrist of Revelation Chapter 13 in our English Bibles, and also the Seventh King mentioned in Revelation Chapter 17. Napoleon signed his name by using only the letter "N". When you place this letter before his Greek title "Apollyon," you reveal Napoleon's biblical identity as "Napollyon: the Destroyer". A famous Russian tsar figured out this clever little riddle many years ago, and realized it was his biblical destiny as a Son of David to destroy this antichrist and his "locust army," using biblical instructions contained within the book of Revelation. By following these locust-destroying tactics, this famous Russian tsar was able to successfully defeat Napoleon, and exile him to the island of Elba.
