  Nostradamus and
  Napoleon

Nostradamus seemed captivated with the coming of a mysterious person he referred to as "Pax Ney Loron".  This mysterious figure in French history was responsible for more Nostradamus prophecies than any other.  This famous figure was also the subject of a Nostradamus word game.  Nostradamus was known to play word games with the names of famous people in order to confuse those attempting to interpret his prophecies before their time.  The name "Pax Ney Loron" (Peace Not Bound) is thought by many Nostradamus followers to be an anagram of the name "Napolyon Rex" (Napoleon the Emperor).  This Greek spelling of Napoleon's name alludes to his place of birth on the former Greek island of Corsica in the Meditterranean Sea.

There are innumerable references to Napoleon throughout Nostradamus' works, describing specific events in Napoleon's long career that greatly influenced the future of France in very significant ways.  The are some who also think that certain Bible references point to Napoleon as the messianic antichrist who attempts to seat himself as both military and religious head of the western world.  It was in fact Napoleon who placed the Pope's crown on his own head, and held the Pope prisoner for a period of 42 months from 1809 to 1813.  The following quatrain is a typical example of Nostradamus' many references to the life and military exploits of the famous French general, Napoleon Buonaparte:

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #8 - 1

Pax Ney Loron will create more fire and blood.

Pax Ney Loron plus feu qu'an sang sera.

Bathed in praise, a great escape is assured.

Laude nager, fuir grand au surrez.

Those worried will refuse him entry.

  Les agassas entree refusera.

But doubtful that for long they can hold him confined.

  Pampon durance les tiendra enferrez.

The above quatrain contains Nostradamus' famous anagram "Pax Ney Loron" (Peace Not Bound), which produces "Napolyon Rex" (Napoleon the Emperor) when unscrambled.  And it was Napoleon (GREEK: Napollyon - the Destroyer) who finally ended the peace in Europe.  This particular quatrain describes a famous incident which occurred in August of 1794, when Napoleon was arrested and imprisoned at Ft. Carres in Antibes as he was returning to France from a military campaign in Genoa, Italy.  In Paris, the famous Robespierre had just been overthrown and killed, and the revolutionaries in Paris were worried that Napoleon, originally appointed by Robespierre, was still a Robespierre supporter.  Napoleon's fame however, had spread all over France, and it was impossible for the revolutionaries to hold him for very long.  Ten days later, Napoleon was released from prison.  Modern scientists and historians are still unable to explain how Nostradamus was able to accomplish this amazing feat of prophecy over 200 years in advance of its occurrence.  If you'd like to read more about how Nostradamus prophecies may in fact be documenting real historical events, please click on the link below and order your copy of Edward Oliver's new 350-page book "Prophets and Frauds".
