Nostradamus and the
World Trade Center

   Did Nostradamus predict the 9/11 attack? It now looks like he did! In 1981 author Erika Cheetham wrote in her famous Nostradamus book "The Man Who Saw Tomorrow," that Nostradamus Quatrain #1-87 described an "Attack upon New York" involving its "towers or skyscrapers." A modern english translation of this controversial quatrain is printed below and a link has been provided to an Old French dictionary just in case you'd like to look up the Old French word meanings:

    QUATRAIN #1-87   (corrected translation)

Enormous-promontories on fire in the center of the mainland,

Enno-sigee feu du centre de terre,

Will cause trembling in the towers of the City of New (York);

Fera trembler au tour de Cite Neufve;

Two great rock-monoliths continuously will be attacked,

Deux grands rochiers longtemps feront la guerre,

This is when air-vessels will turn-around to a new course.

Puis are-thuse rou-gira nouveau fleuve.

   The first three lines of the many original translations of this interesting quatrain were close to being accurate, but no one could translate the two words "arethuse" and "rougira" in the last line of the poem. In 2001, a search of all the possible translations for the last line of the poem revealed one that read "This is when air-vessels will turn-around to a new course." This shockingly accurate translation of the final line of this prophecy made it clear that this quatrain was indeed accurately describing the 9/11 attack on New York City.

   Did we ignore this warning about the 9/11 terrorist attack on New York City? Immediately after the 9/11 attack, a fake Nostradamus quatrain was posted on the Internet by someone in Canada. After this false quatrain was discredited, no one was willing to read the real quatrain that did predict the World Trade Center attack. It now looks as if Nostradamus was not only attempting to warn us that this attack was coming, but was also letting us know exactly how the terrorists were going to accomplish the deed!
