Another famous poem recorded by the great prophet Nostradamus, concerned the coming of Spain's celebrated leader, Francisco Franco. General Franco was a Spanish dictator who ruled Spain from 1936 to 1975. In this incredible prophecy, Nostradamus not only includes Franco's name in the prophecy, but also includes the name of Franco's immediate predecessor, Primo Rivera, and then describes the famous event that was responsible for Franco's military overthrow of Spain. This is just one more amazing example of Nostradamus using proper names to accurately describe real historical events.

That's right! In this amazing prophecy Nostradamus not only predicts the coming of Spain's Generalissimo Franco, but even goes so far as to include Franco's name in the prophecy. Nostradamus then goes on to describe Franco's famous military coup in 1936 that resulted in him becoming Spain's new ruler. This is just one more case of Nostradamus using proper names in his prophecies.
The Spanish dictator Primo de Rivera (castillian: Ribera) had ruled Spain since 1923, but in 1930 the failure of the international banks caused Rivera's rule to crumble. The Spanish government fell into a state of complete political discord, as Marxist rebels attempted to take over the nation. General Francisco Franco, Spain's second most powerful military leader, was ordered to the Balearic Islands, and for the next few years left and right wing factions struggled for political control of Spain's government. Franco was then sent even farther away to a remote post in the Canary Islands.
But when it appeared that Marxist communists were gaining the upper hand, Franco, aided by Rivera supporters, decided to take control of the government. Franco flew to Morocco to lead Spain's Africa Corps in a military coup on the European mainland, but the Straits of Gibraltar denied him entry onto the continent. With help from the Axis powers of Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler, who also hated communists, Franco was finally able to obtain the planes and ships he needed to transport his troops across the great gulf of water that denied him access to the Iberian peninsula.
General Franco ultimately defeated the Russian Marxist troops under General Pavlov, who were being supported by American communists, by forming a citizens army made up of of over 200,000 volunteers from the north of Spain. Generalisimo Franco served as Spain's absolute ruler until his death in 1975. Modern scientists are still unable to explain how Nostradamus was able to accomplish this amazing feat of modern prophecy, over 350 years before the event took place.
